MS-150 Success!

Linda and I rode the MS-150 this past weekend. The MS Society puts on a very nice event and raised over a million dollars for research. We rode about 77 miles on Saturday and around 72 on Sunday. We saw lots of old friends and made several new ones.

You can see the route for both days combined here

150 miles on back to back days takes some real work. The first day went pretty well, we spent about 4 hours and 43 minutes riding. On Sunday there’s a long climb up to Hardware Ranch so our average speed was a little little lower. Sunday’s total riding time was 4:47.

MS-150 training

This was our last weekend before we ride our bikes in the Utah MS-150 ride next weekend.

Saturday, we went to spin class in the morning for an hour and then hit the road for a 35 mile flat ride.  Today (Sunday) we started in Foothills and headed east up Emigration Canyon. Then west to downtown and out to the airport. We went south a little bit from there and back to Foothills. About 48 miles.

Next weekend we’ll do 75 miles on Saturday and then another 75 on Sunday.  This will be our second year doing the MS-150.

Katie’s Dance Recital

Joe posted two pictures from Katie’s Recital.  Here is a link with the rest of the pictures:

The Christmas Gang

Last Christmas Sooz and the boys came out along with CD and Connor. We were staying the the condo (temporary housing while our house was recuperating from the flood) but thanks to Allstate we had enough room for everybody. Anyway, here’s the crew:

Franken-Buster

Buster’s a great dog. He’s sweet, loyal, doesn’t bark or shed and loves everybody. Linda got him from the pound many years ago. We think he’s about 14 or so. Anyway he got cancer. Bummer. Well, it was in the front of his lower jaw, so we decided to have it removed. Because of where it was, they had to remove the front part of his lower jaw. Now his tongue sticks out of his mouth. It’s actually pretty funny. And that’s why we call him Franken-Buster.

Summer dance recital

Linda’s mom was in town last weekend and Katie had her summer dance recital. She’s been working really hard and doing a great job. I got to use my new lens, the 70-200 f/4. It turned out to be pretty sweet. I’ll post a few shots of Kate doing her thing.
